How to use it well

A few habits make the answers more accurate.

Ask about the page you are on

Open a PDF and just ask. Naming the page and the question number makes it more precise.

Every answer carries its source (file name · page). Click it to jump to that page.

Point at exactly what you mean

For a sentence or a number, drag over the text in the PDF to select it, then ask.

For tables, graphs, formulas or scanned pages, draw a box with the "Ask" tool on the left rail. When the AI should solve a problem, keep the number, the conditions and the choices inside the box.

A whole exam in one request

You can ask for a whole range at once, like "solve questions 1 to 30". JY finds the page each question is on and solves them one by one.

If the answers and explanations are in another PDF, choose it under "Answer key" in the input box's bar. Marking and checking become more accurate.

Follow-up questions

Follow-ups in the same conversation keep the pages, scope and language you were using. Start a different topic with "New conversation".

Several PDFs together

Press "This PDF" in the input box and choose "Several PDFs": JY then answers with the chosen PDFs side by side. You can switch at the start or in the middle of a chat, and the choice is saved with the chat. If you don't know which PDF has it, choose "Whole folder" there instead.

Keep it in your notebook

Keep a good answer with "Add to notebook". A notebook is one per subject, so what you collect from many PDFs gathers in one place with its source and date.

Type "/" at the start of an empty line in a notebook to ask the AI to tidy things up. Turn on "Cover" to hide answers and review by recalling them.

Before you trust an answer

  • The AI can be wrong. Click the source to check anything important against the original.
  • If an answer looks doubtful, narrow the range, or raise the "Reasoning" level (how deeply the AI thinks) one step in "Change the AI" and ask again.
  • There is no web switch to set. The AI searches on its own when it needs to, and an answer that used the web gets small source links under it.
